You may find it’s not your sperm that’s the issue. Some women just can’t get pregnant. Could be something internal going on there.

I had to do IVF for both my kids and I hadn’t taken gear prior. It’s so affordable these days too - second one cost me $1000 out of pocket.

Oh, is that it? I thought it was like $10k + easy. Did you have private health?
I note that we already have a kiddo, but I've never done a sperm analysis prior - so I could have always been low?

There’s lots of places that offer IVF services funded by Medicare. We chose a place called adora fertility. The private ones are the ones that charge $8-10k and spin you some BS that they do all these studies and tests but it’s all the same.

Appreciate it mate - that's amazing news. I thought this whole time it'll be out of the budget!

My wife and I went through the public system for IVF as she has PCOS. By the time you pay for all the tests, appointments and purchase the fertility meds it was around 5k for us. But it was a very quick process and I would highly recommend it.

Out of curiosity, does IVF help chances of getting pregnant in any way if the only underlining issue is the man’s sperm?

Yes there are a few different options for IVF, for instance they can take the egg and sperm and actually plant the sperm into the egg. This saves it needing to swim to locate the egg.
Cheers I didn’t know that, thought it was only an effective treatment when the problem is something to do with the chick

That's good to know! Would be keen to see the escalation of your sperm count throughout! (if you don't mind sharing)
