I have this really negative mindset, self worth. I cannot fuck it off goes up n down.
Ill keep this in regards to training!
My determination and persistents is pretty fuckin good cause I just want to be better. Ideally like it to be across the board (reality not the case). As long as its atleast 1 rep or better form.
You see quite too often I have this fuckin low riding skunk who loves to randomly drop in on me.
Sometimes getting ready to go to gym he starts. What are doing? What for? Waisting your time? Probably injure yourself! Your not even changing? Give it a miss today!
And so on......
Fuck some days in the gym it really holds me back, i feel! Constant fucking criticism.
Some days he wins. Then fuck me let's me know all about how pathetic and what a bitch I am, when I do give up.
Somedays its you fat fuck make me sick, look at you! Then fuck your skinny or skinny fat! Haha days where fuck yeah you look alright your making progress.
A build up to strip it down hold me back.
Can you believe this mother fucker has the nerve to get real personal at times n tell me how little my dick is.
Anyhow does anyone else fight with a shit mindset and what do you do to shift it into a positive fuck yeah you can do this and will do this!
Enough of a rant from me. Appreciate any feed back

The truth is that so much of your mindset and personality is genetic. I feel so lucky because I’ve never had a negative experience like that in my life. You just have to control what you can control. Want an ego boost, walk around in any public place, you’ll look better than 99% of cunts around. A lot of time boys end up looking at Jay Cutler and thinking they suck, when they are the top 1%.

I hear you man. Struggled with this my whole life, can’t say why so not going to try put a label on it, constant negative self talk, I’m never good enough at anything or for anyone. Then one day as I approached 40 I had a real good chat with myself and finally accepted myself as I am. Not who I am compared to this guy or that guy, or where I should be in my life. I let go of some attachments that were shaping my perceived identity, kind of just jettisoned some shit. It also occurred to me that if everyone around me is a cunt, then I’m actually the cunt. My days are much more peaceful, I’m not going 10 rounds with myself daily anymore. Sounds very corny to say but I’m just trying to be better than yesterday, gain a bit more knowledge, strength physique, work on some mangled relationships. I’ve learned to accept the bloke I see in the mirror, instead of berating him.

I recently watched a very interesting doc on Netflix by Jonah Hill interviewing his therapist ( very famous one): Stutz ( name of doc also). He calls it Part X , which everyone has, the inner voice of self sabotage ( you’re not good enough, you can’t do it, you’re too ugly etc.) . He gives you tools to deal with it. Disclaimer: it will never go away but you can control it.

Eckhart Tolle - genius on this stuff. Don't bother with the online 'summaries', they do him a disservice. His book "The Power of Now" will blow you away, if you can get your brain around the concept. It's pretty philosophical and need to read it a few time to 'get it'.

Cliffs - OP, you are normal. We all have an inner voice that talks to us. If you don't notice it, awesome! However 99% of us do notice it. Worse, a large proportion of us have a negative voice that produces negative shit in our head primarily because of one of two things: fear of the future or regrets of the past. Simple, but complex... Both are fucking useless to you. Present is all that matters.

The trick - " do not be your mind". Sounds weird eh? Instead 'simply' be an observer of your mind. Make your mind a separate entity to yourself. Dont pass judgement on what your mind is doing/ thinking/ nor let it affect your feelings (otherwise you are simply regressing back to being your mind). It's very, very hard to do consistently, but also extremely rewarding and can provide instant relief to all kinds of emotions like the OP posted.

When i'm doing this well, i think of my mind as this crazy translucent sphere in my head, completely disconnected from my skull, spine, nervous system, any and everything to do with me. Its a different entity floating around in my skull and importantly, it isn't me... i can look at it and observe some seriously crazy shit it produces. Just observe, don't feel it, just curiously look at it, don't pass judgement, if 'it' is chaotic, unhappy, worried or whatever then that's cool, not my problem. Just notice it, meh whatever brain...

To the extreme, think of your brain as the dude you may see on the street one day walking around yelling at the clouds, punching walls, whatever. Does it affect you? Nope. just watch him. Whatever dude, you do your thing, good for you. Have fun, i ain't buying into that. You 'could' get up, get all worried, angry, defensive, make thing right, take the situation on, whatever.... but NO. Fuck it. Just sit there and watch.

Let your brain be the dude walking around the street yelling. Meanwhile you carry on doing you in the present, just noticing the other crazy guy you cant do anything about not let it affect you.

Hard to do, but with constant practice its pretty awesome

You’re aware of it so that’s already a positive my friend. Practice self awareness and pull yourself up on these thoughts as you have them.

Consider this approach: Rather than let these thoughts drag you down, use them as fuel. Prove yourself right, that you are capable.

I know a few people who have had troubles with mental illness and mindset that say Eckhart Tolle has really helped them. Probably worth looking in to if you’re struggling with this stuff

Appreciate you taking the time to write this bro. I’m fortunate not to struggle with my mental health but i think anyone could benefit from this if they want.

Looked into his book and enjoying it so far.

It’s a result of the inbuilt defence mechanism we have against potential threats. If we didn’t have this “negative” voice everyone would be running around thinking they can jump off cliffs and stick the landing (Poorly timed example given what’s happened in the news recently). We have the fight or flight mechanism in place to protect us against potential threats. It’s there so we properly assess a situations risk to our health and make an appropriate decision. It’s still wired to the caveman days where everything was life or death and hasn’t evolved to modern society. As a result any situation we’re put in where we have to “compete” with anyone else or an opposing threat of some kind no matter how minor our bodies will offer up the same choice of either “get out and don’t do it” or “fuck it I’m good enough and this isn’t a problem”.

End of the day it comes down to your self esteem, confidence and your habitual way of thinking. Have to start setting up better mental models around how you think about yourself. There’s a lot of people in this world and you’re more capable and better than most of them so remind yourself of this. Our sole purpose is to improve every day, and when we’re not it will knock us around. With each little win you’ll get more confidence. It’s a snow ball effect and it’s the same the other way if you choose the negative route.

For me personally I'm finding it harder and harder to get positive.. the body isn't coping like it used to work the last few years it's telling the mind you can't do the things you used to... niggling past injuries haunt you in older age.. it's a rough patch I know it will pass eventually the brain fog will lift hopefully

It’s not the “growth” I get out of gh it’s the repair and prevention of niggles and injuries. Additional fat burning capacity. Can hit 5-6 workouts and recover as you did in your 20’s.
If you don’t mind me asking, what doses and gh brand do you use to get those benefits? Looking into it for the first time myself.
