Hi lads, newbie to the site. A few things about me.
I’m 44 and have been lifting for 26 years, I first started with a serious program called “Big Beyond Belief” which I ordered out of a muscle and fitness magazine. I ran the book twice in roughly a year which put on a huge amount of muscle and cut a large amount of fat. Although the workouts were ultimately too much after a year on as a natural, it did teach me about my body, what it needed not what I liked and ultimately how to experiment with my own insane workout plans moving forward.
In the 26 years I’ve been training I’ve developed a love/hate relationship with lifting. I hate all the exercises but love all the exercises. I love training but hate the way my body aches after it. I hate the past, present, future injuries and how it effects my daily living and training.
What I do love is having muscles, a zest for life, serous old man strength, having young to old women wanting to touch the muscles and seeing men intimidated with my mere presence. Maybe I’ve got mental health problems……
I’ve taken a two young guys under my wing recently, with all the TikTok madness these guys were dumb as dog shit when it came to training and chemical supplements, they were out to seriously hurt themselves. I believe as an old school lifter, it’s my job to help and advise like those before me helped helped and advised me.
I’ve enjoyed reading throughout the site while I recover from a pinch nerve in my traps causing massive headaches. Yes I’ve been seeing a Dr and physiotherapist. I look forward to reading more and actively participating in future talk.
